AUSTIN / FOOD & CLIMATE
Austin awarded $102,000 in Food and Climate Equity grants to 34 community-led projects, with up to $3,000 per organization. The projects range from a community garden aimed at healthy food access to emergency-preparedness work and school sustainability programs.
These are small grants, not a citywide fix. They put funding directly into local efforts on food access and resilience. The City says recipients have until June 1, 2027, to complete their projects.

IN DEVELOPMENT — V2 EDITORIAL PROCESSAustin Daily Briefing is an independent project created and editorially directed in Austin. Its upcoming v2 engine is being designed to use automated tools and AI to discover reporting, check whether a story adds meaningful new information, and rank eligible stories using shared editorial criteria. Stories will then be organized for a useful mix of importance, geography, and subject matter before the briefing is assembled.
Editorial judgment remains part of the process. Strong stories may be promoted, repetitive coverage removed, and selections adjusted to preserve balance and occasional surprise. Personal preferences will shape only the “More for You” section; they will not remove essential Austin coverage. Published items will provide concise context and link readers to the original reporting. This process is still being tested and may change before v2 becomes the production system.
You begin with default preferences. Use Customize Briefing to choose your interests and reading style. Leave questions blank to keep the settings you already have. Your choices shape “More for You”; they do not remove essential stories from the core Austin briefing.
Your email address and preferences are used only to deliver and manage Austin Daily Briefing. They are not sold or shared for advertising. This landing page does not collect your email directly.
